School Locked Down in Las Vegas Due to Weapon Crime
A single gun caused a school-wide lockdown in southeast Las Vegas last Thursday afternoon.
Officers were dispatched to a local high school when two children reported being chased by an adult in the area. After searching around the school, the responding officers noticed that one of the vehicles in the parking lot had a handgun inside of it. Although the firearm was unloaded, officers issued a lockdown anyway until they could locate the suspect.
About thirty minutes later, they were able to locate the man suspected of chasing the two children. The 49-year-old man was then taken into custody on charges of resisting arrest, loitering with a weapon and possession of dangerous weapons on school property.
