Suspect Claims Shooting was in Self-Defense
After learning that he was wanted for murder, one man decided to turn himself in on the premise that he killed another man in self-defense.
When the 37-year-old man arrived at a police station in Las Vegas, Nevada last week, officers were surprised to learn who the assailant was. It is not often that a suspect will turn himself in and this suspect came prepared with a story to defend himself.
However, his story was not enough to stop officers from charging him with three counts of firing a firearm into a structure, three counts of firing a weapon out of a motor vehicle, and one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
According to the suspect, he was merely firing back at the victim in self-defense. He said the man he shot had actually fired first. Supposedly, the two had a fight about driving recklessly in the neighborhood, a small altercation that turned into a fatally tragic event.
Following the shooting, the victim succumbed to his injuries as he had suffered a gunshot to his chest.
