Wheelchair Bound Man Arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon
A man in a wheelchair was arrested on Monday morning after he allegedly stabbed another man. Police reports indicate that the two men had been in an argument, about what is publicly unknown, when the man in the wheelchair stabbed the other man. The victim had to be immediately taken to the trauma unit at University Medical Center. The man in the wheelchair, for his part, attempted an escape by wheeling away. He was caught by police officers on bicycles shortly thereafter.
Given the alleged event, the disabled man will probably be charged with assault with a deadly weapon. This is a felony charge, which means he could be sentenced to years in prison as well as large fines and probation.
