Domestic Dispute Results in Shootout on I-15

One woman and one man are injured after a shooting began in traffic on I-15 yesterday afternoon. The two people who were injured were in a relationship; they were driving with two other friends when a fight broke out between the first man and one of his friends. He allegedly punched his friend then attacked the woman. When the driver of the vehicle pulled over, the man took out his shotgun.

The three others in the car got out and ran, but the man with the shotgun followed the woman, shooting at her and at cars passing by. The two friends were able to escape to a local Jack in the Box where they remained safe. The woman, however, was not so lucky. She was critically injured, though she managed to make her way to a group of construction workers. 

Police saw the shooter, who had also taken aim at motorists and police, and shot him in defense. He and the woman were taken to the hospital, where they are recovering from their injuries.
