Brutal Beating Case Comes to an End
The long-awaited trial of one Illinois man brought closure to the brutal beating and kidnapping of a young female victim.
This month, a jury in Clark County heard the case of the 41-year-old man who kidnapped a 24-year-old woman from a casino. According to the case files, the two became friends but when he asked her to become more than just friends, she refused.
He became enraged, kidnapped and severely beat her. Upon investigation of the case, he was charged with first-degree kidnapping with substantial bodily harm and drug possession, both felonies in the state of Illinois.
Her legal team told a story of coercion and intimidation. After the two became friends, he allegedly threatened her with the injury of her friends and family if she did not move in with him. She did, and just a few days after moving in with him, he beat her with a baseball bat.
At this time, he is being held on $500,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned later this month.
