Man Could Get 20 Years for DUI Accident Related Death
Two years ago, a man left a party intoxicated, took to the road and killed a young woman while causing a DUI accident. Following the accident, the man was charged with several DUI related offenses.
This week, the suspect's attorney advised him to plead guilty to the charges filed against him due to alleged evidence of his guilt. While his sentencing has been pushed back a few days, the man is expected to receive as much as 20 years behind bars for his actions now that he has pleaded guilty.
The victim's father was present at the suspect's hearing and later stated how happy he was to see that the man had pleaded guilty. On the day of the suspect's sentencing, the father is expected to be given a chance to not just speak to the court, but to the man responsible for taking his daughter's life.
