Officer in Hospital Following DUI Accident
A Las Vegas Motorycle patrol officer has been hospitalized after receiving severe injuries from a DUI crash that nearly cost him his life.
Police reports state that the injured officer had made a stop to investigate a driver who had crashed into a guardrail on the highway, suspecting intoxication by the driver. While investigating the crash, another intoxicated driver swerved on the road and slammed into the officer's back, throwing him more than fifty feet, causing significant bodily damage.
Then, two additional intoxicated drivers crossed the scene, being stopped and arrested by Las Vegas police officers making a total of four DUI arrest in very close proximity to each other. The man who injured the officer is in jail faces felony charges for DUI with serious injury.
