Victim's Brother-In-Law Charged in Shooting Death
31 year old Gerald Hirai was fatally shot last year, and police are finally holding the court hearing for the suspect, the victim's brother-in-law.
26 year old Rick Saldana is a suspect in the murder. Hirai's estranged wife is also being charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder with the use of a deadly weapon. Hirai's wife had previously filed a restraining order against her husband because he had begun using drugs after losing his job. She claimed that he was using methamphetamine, prescription pills, and marijuana, and that he was selling drugs as well.
Saldana's hearing is set for Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. Witnesses say that Hirai was shot by two Hispanic suspects who had short hair and were wearing white tank tops. Saldana's prints were found on Hirai's BMW.
