Suspected Murder-Suicide Bodies Found in Cave
A Coronado National Memorial Park ranger discovered two bodies in a cave last Wednesday. A man and a woman, both 23 years old, were shot dead in the Arizona park near Sierra Vista and Montezuma Pass.
Sheryl Lynn Allen and Walt Gabriel Lemaire are the victims. They were found in a tent after people asked a ranger about whether camping in the cave was allowed and he went to inspect the area. There was also a small caliber handgun found at the scene. Initial investigations have concluded that Allen was shot first, and then Lemaire. Police are treating the case as a murder-suicide.
Details about Allen and Lemaire's relationship have not been released, and the investigation into their deaths is ongoing. Coronado Cave is open to the public.
