Body Found Near I-15

On Saturday, Las Vegas police were called about a body in a vacant lot. They are treating the case as a homicide, at least until more information about the deceased man is known. The cause of death has not been definitively determined.

The body was reported by a homeless man; the area in which the body was found is close to a homeless camp. Metro police found the body on Saturday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. Information about the victim has not been released, if it is known at all. They are still collecting evidence and interviewing people in the area to glean more information. They do not believe that he was dead for more than a several hours before they found him.

The lot is near the I-15, from Russell Avenue and Hacienda Avenue.

Homicide is a lesser charge than murder; this investigation means that they believe that the death was likely not accidental but that there is no clear motive or evidence for premeditation.
