Dr. Conrad Murray, the man better known as Michael Jackson's doctor at the time of his death, is being sued by Joe Jackson, Michael Jackson's father, for professional negligence. He seeks $75,000 in damages. Additionally, Dr. Murray faces criminal charges of involuntary manslaughter relating to the pop star's untimely death.
One year after Michael Jackson's death, the event is still shrouded in mystery. Although it is known that Jackson died of a drug overdose, it is unclear whether Dr. Murray was negligent in prescribing or administering him the fatal drugs. Joe Jackson also alleges that Dr. Murray did not inform EMTs and doctors of vital information about Jackson's condition, information that may have saved his life.
Latoya Jackson, Michael Jackson's sister, has publicly claimed that her brother's death was not an accident and that he was murdered for his money. Since Jackson's death, his catalog has earned over $1 billion in royalties.
Dr. Murray has clinics in Las Vegas and Houston.
