A 25 year old mixed martial arts fighter, Jason Sindelar, is being charged and held for the death of Demario Reynolds, a 26 year old former UNLV football player.
The altercation occurred around 4 a.m. at the Luxor Resort on the Vegas Strip. Reynolds and Sindelar were reportedly friends, and witnesses say the fight broke out when Reynolds asked Sindelar to leave the party after Sindelar and his girlfriend had a verbal argument. Witnesses claim that Sindelar was intoxicated and also slapped his girlfriend and attempted to grab her throat.
Although Sindelar claimed that Reynolds physically provoked the first fight, he initiated a second fight and did not stop even after Reynolds had assumed a defensive position. Police consider Sindelar to be the primary aggressor.
Sindelar is being held in Clark County Detention Center without bail.
