Police Suspect Rival Gangs to Blame for Shootings

Three people were hospitalized after a late-night shooting in North Las Vegas neighborhood. Police believe that the shooting occured between two rival gangs.
Residents of the neighborhood say that a group of young adults, possibly teenagers, arrived around 12:15 a.m. Around 2:00 a.m. in the morning, an unknown factor caused a shootout - one that involved a handgun and a high powered rifle. Over 40 rounds were shot into the neighborhood, hitting houses, cars, and three people in the group. The rifle was powerful enough to shoot through walls, although no residents were harmed.
Two of the victims are in critical condition at University Medical Center; one is a 20 year old man and the other is an 18 year old man. Another 18 year old man is at North Vista Hospital but has only minor injuries.
If the gunmen are found, they will likely face assault and battery charges, weapons offense charges, and, if any of the victims die, homicide charges.
