Man Accused of Crime Spree Needed Money for Girlfriend's Bail

A Las Vegas local just needed money so that he could help out his girlfriend. Unfortunately, the money was to bail her out of jail, and his means of getting the money included robbery, kidnapping, and burglary.

Michael Dorotiak, 29, has been convicted of felony crimes before. Dorotiak stole an SUV at a gas station and robbed a casino cashier at Orleans Hotel and Casino. As he was exiting the casino, however, a patron tripped him, causing him to drop almost $40,000 of the money he had just acquired. He then carjacked a pickup truck and crashed it. He was apprehended by police when a family dialed 911 to report that he was hiding in their mobile home. According to the family, he told them that he dropped his gun during the robbery, and even offered to share the money with them.

At the time of his arrest, he had $9,400 in cash from the casino.
