Three pedestrians were injured on Monday evening when a black pickup drove up onto the sidewalk in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. The driver did not stop and drove off in the direction of North Las Vegas.
All three victims, who were outside of the Margaritaville Las Vegas, were taken to University Medical Center Trauma, but are said to be in stable condition. Their injuries were not life-threatening. Some residents report being surprised that a hit and run is possible on the Las Vegas Strip, given the traffic congestion.
It is a criminal act to leave the scene of an auto accident without exchanging information; penalties are enhanced if there were any injuries. The driver of the black pickup, Chris Kiser, was arrested a few hours later at about 1:30 a.m. for reckless driving and DUI. He is facing felony hit and run charges in addition to DUI, drug possession, and other traffic violations.
