Police Believe Drugs May Be Motive in Motel Shotting
A man was found dead at a local Motel 6 yesterday. They found the man in a room at the motel; he was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead around 9:00 p.m.
Police reports have not yet released a name of the deceased or a motive for the shooting, although they believe that it occurred after an argument that may have been over a gun or drugs. There were two others in the motel room at the time of the shooting, but police have not arrested any suspects.
The Motel 6 in question is located near Dean Martin Drive and Tropicana Drive.
Murder and manslaughter are both serious charges in Nevada, and sentence for a conviction can range from years imprisonment to the death penalty in some states.
