Nye County Public Administrator Robbed at Home
Robert Jones, Nye County's public administrator, was robbed on Saturday night during a home invasion. The police report states that 4 to 6 people, both men and women, unlawfully broke into Jones' house around 9 p.m., armed with a shotgun. All of the robbers had black ski masks covering their faces. They got into a physical fight with Jones, who was presumably attempting to defend himself, and they then tied him up so that he could not interfere anymore. They also stole some things from his house, although police have not said what items were stolen.
The Nye County Sheriff's Office have made a statement saying that they do not believe this was a random robbery but that it was conducted against Jones because of his role in the county government. They also said in the statement that the suspects are still at large and that they should be treated as armed and dangerous.
