Joyce, Former Locomotives Player, Shot and Killed in St. Louis
Brandon Joyce, a 26 year old former player for the Los Vegas Locomotives, was fatally shot in St. Louis on Christmas Eve. It is believed that he was killed during a drug deal that was happening outside of a Bass Pro Shop. Joyce was on the off-season roster for the St. Louis Rams.
Three men have been charged with second degree murder and attempted robbery in this case. Deveon Shockley, Tory Brooks and Cory Brooks are the three men who have been arrested and charged. They are all only 21 years of age and are being held on $1 million bail each. Police believe that there is a fourth man who was involved in the shooting, but he has not yet been caught.
Joyce's family is denying the allegations that he died during a drug deal, citing his career as an athlete as a reason that he would not use drugs. He was with a friend at the time of the shooting, and his family maintains that he saved his friend's life.
