On July 21st, a teenager entered The Family Shop, a convenience store in North Las Vegas, pulled a gun, and demanded money and cigarettes. The convenience store clerk initially complied with the robbery demands, but when the suspect became distracted when two people entered the store, the clerk grabbed an aluminum bat and hit the suspect on the head.
The suspect, a 17 year old Russian citizen, died from his injuries on Sunday. The teenager hasn't been identified and police are asking anyone with information about him to come forward. They believe that he was a resident of Henderson. It has since been determined that the gun the suspect had was fake.
Police have not charged or made any other arrests in the case, and previously stated that the clerk was using a justifiable use of force.
