Attempted Murder Suicide Occurs in Condo with Children Inside

Police were called to a condo on Elm Creek when a family member discovered two people had been shot, and two young children were inside as well. The boyfriend and girlfriend each had a single bullet wound, and each was still alive when police arrived. The nature of their injuries has led police to believe that it was a domestic dispute that turned into an attempted murder-suicide. The children were unharmed and police have stated that they do not believe that they were witness to the shooting.
They were taken to University Medical Center; the male died there and the woman is still in critical condition. It has not yet been released which of the two was the victim and which was the shooter.
Neighbors say that the two people who were in their 20s had seemed well-to-do; there has been no previous reports of violence in the family.
If the woman survives and it is determined that she was the shooter, she could be facing decades in prison for homicide.
